PURPOSE:

The purpose of the seminar is to look at different aspects of grandparenting, develop skills as grandparents, and share our own experiences.

DESCRIPTION:

Grandparenting is an experience many of us share. In this seminar we will explore many aspects of grandparenting through group discussion and topical presentations.  Each session will include time for sharing our experiences, joys and frustrations. We will investigate topics such as grandparenting in different cultures, choosing books for grandkids, when families include divorce, multiracial parents, non-binary or trans parents, or any relevant topic. 

ROLE OF PARTICIPANTS: Each person will either lead a group discussion or give a presentation of up to 30 minutes on a relevant topic or experience. The moderator will provide a list of possible topics.
RESOURCES:

There are no required books but a list of helpful books and articles will be made available. 

ABOUT THE MODERATOR: Susan is a former teacher with an M.Ed. and 40 years of working with children of all ages. She is a grandparent to kids aged 26-, 20-, and 1-month old, a step-grandparent to five young adult grandkids and has a 2-year-old great-grandson.
