This talk will provide an introduction to plastic pollution in our oceans — the extent of the problem, where plastics enter the ocean, where they tend to accumulate, and the consequences for plant, animal and human populations. I will give some suggested actions you can take to make a difference. You will learn some useful terminology such as “What constitutes a microplastic?” and “What is a ghost net?”
